Dear Member,

Greetings from IFI!

It is nearing the time when we will see each other again and I am excited to inform you of recent developments both in IFI and in our preparations of our upcoming General Assembly to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 8-9, 2009.

As is customary, this will be followed by the Congress, entitled “Celebrate Design”, November 10-11, 2009. We are pleased to inform you that this event will take place at Grand Hyatt Convention Center in Dubai.

We have had an active and hectic board term with many good changes at IFI, which we believe will further our organizations mission and continue the discussion of the role of Interior Architecture/Design around the world.

2008 has been a busy year as we have expanded our secretariat and moved our headquarters to Montreal, Canada. As you know, we have also signed the official partnership for the International Design Alliance (IDA) with ICSID (Industrial Designers) and ICOGRADA (Graphic designers).

As we prepare for our 2009 General Assembly I ask that you fill out and return the attached forms to our secretariat at secretary@ifiworld.org. These forms ask for your attendance at the General Assembly, nominations to the IFI board, an application if you intend to submit a bid for the 2013 Congress and a request for any item(s) to be added to the General Assembly agenda. Also included in this packet is a proxy form, which can be returned to our office at a later date if you are unable to attend the General Assembly in Dubai and would like someone to represent you in your place. We request that this information be returned by June 15, 2009, unless otherwise stated on the form.

In the coming months we will continue to prepare for our Congress and General Assembly in Dubai and I encourage you to visit our congress website at www.ifi2009dubai.org to both register and obtain further information and details.
